A Walk Down Memory Lane

I haven't added any pictures in a while so I thought I would just grab a couple and post 'em! It is hard to believe Carter was ever this little! It is amazing how fast he has grown into a little man!

The Naughty Rock

"You don't like me anymore?" ... as I put him on the "naughty rock". We use to do the "naughty step" but the new apartment doesn't have any steps so the fireplace hearth makes do. The "naughty ________(fill in the blank) is by far the best disciplinary technique I know of. You can put the kiddo on anything. We have had the "naughty step", "naughty rock", "naughty stool", naughty couch", naughty bench", even the "naughty ledge". Oh, and how could I forget the "naughty corner"?

My Valentine Cupid

On Valentine's Day, Carter and I made mini cakes for our valentines and then we handed them out. We also made Valentine cards which were way cute! They even included a small piece of custom-made art by Carter! Very cute!

We then enjoyed a candle-lit dinner... from Sonic. When I asked Carter what he wanted, that is what he told me! Afterall, isn't Valentine's Day a day to celebrate and serve those we love!? So, Sonic it was.

Home, Sweet, Warm, Home

"Home, sweet, warm, home" were the words Carter said as we pulled up to our fairly new home. Its a good thing.

Pee Diaries

I was so excited to go to my new ward which I have attended for only 3 weeks now. I dressed Carter so cute. Right before we were about to leave for church, I had Carter sit on the toilet to go potty. Now, if you would've asked me this morning if Carter was potty-trained, I would've answered with a very triumphant and proud "YES!".

So, off we go to sacrament meeting. Right about to the part where they get to ward and stake business, Carter looks up at me with fear in his eyes and says, "Mama, I went potty". I looked down and lo and behold, there is Carter standing in a puddle of his own pee. I quickly grabbed his things, stuffed them in his bag, and bolted outta there!

I was so embarrassed and kind of mad. I took Carter home, put him in the shower (he likes to shower by the way) and quickly chose a new outfit for church from shoes to shirt. As he showered, I was just thinking how angry I was and it occurred to me that its really not that big of a deal. Carter had an accident. It may be too soon to say, but I am sure I will laugh about this later.

We went back to church, which I was not sure I wanted to do, and it ended up being a wonderful day. Carter is asleep right now recovering from the dramatic events of the day. I think I may need to too.

Sleeping in the Nude... Don't we all wish we could do it?

Ok, so I just went to check on Carter who is asleep and this is how I found him.

Mind you, he was completely dressed in a full body sleeper with the feet! Oh and take notice of the "blank". He cannot function (or not function for that matter) without it.

It's been a bad day...

Today Carter slept in, so that means I did too.
I did not work today.
I ate Strawberry Frosted Mini-Wheats.
I woke up to a clean house because I stayed up late last night cleaning it.
I worked out at the gym (can you say endorphins?).
I had an incredibly good hair day.
I went to the City Library and partook of delicious asian food for the Chinese New Year for free.
It is the year of the Rat, which I happen to be.
I bought some really cute jeans for Carter at Old Navy for $6 bucks.
I took a nap.
I fixed the internet which has been broken since Wednesday.

It appears that I would've had a great day, but not so much. Carter has been very... well, lets say challenging. He is always so perfect that if he has an off-day, it turns my world upside down! I finally had to just tell him to go get in his bed and go to sleep.

Thank goodness for naptime and bedtime!

About 5 years late...

Ok, Ok. So I have finally jumped on the "blogging bandwagon"... about 5 years late. This reminds me of a time I was wearing these really, really hideous shoes that I thought were hip and I asked my friend Emiko (from Japan) what she thought of them. She said in her adorable, broken english, "Oh yes, we wore those about 5 years ago in Japan". Needless to say, that would be the last time I wore my hot pink, platform flip flops. Ughhh... Those were bad. Anyway, I have just decided to live by the motto, "Everyone else is doing it, so why shouldn't I?". Ok, not really.

Where to begin...

I just moved into my new apartment with Carter. It is very cute but very wierd after living in my own house for years. But, still very cute. I even have a fireplace. I love fireplaces. Carter still isn't sure about his new room so he often finds his way into my bed, but I don't mind. It is just like an endless sleepover with a little person. It's fun.

I am still working for Mirabella Beauty, which I still love. I was just recently promoted to Senior Artist & Educator for the state of Utah. I also am working for a company called SkinCareRX, an online retail store for high-end, clinical and medical grade skin care. I do consultations over the phone (also known as "Sales") with various clients. I have found that I am quite a convincing woman. I did begin there as the Customer Service Manager but decided that working 60 hours a week just isn't my bag. So, I cut back to 12 hours a week which is much more my style. I am also doing various things on the side such as Bridal makeup, Fashion makeup and skin care treatments. You can find more information on that by visiting my website at illuminatebycarly.com

Carter is as cute as ever. I know that I am his mother and therefore, I am biased, but seriously, he is stinkin' cute. Here is a list of the Top Ten Best Things Carter Says.

10. When he is told NO, he says: "Maybe later? In a little while? How 'bout tomorrow?"

9. When he has a bowel movement he calls them "tummy aches". For example: "Mom, I had lots of tummy aches in the toilet!".

8. Every morning he says: "Mom, I am hungry! I want Mac & Cheese and some Chockie Milk." Spoken like a true 3-year old...

7. "I am a child of GUY..." Carter's version of the popular primary song, 'I am a Child of God'.

6. "Mom, I love you."

5. "Mom, do you like my blank?" Blank meaning Blanket. Yes, he still has a blanket but he never had a passifier, stopped drinking with bottles at 11 months and started sleeping in a big boy bed at 18 months, SO LAY OFF! Don't go trying to strip him of the last shred of babyhood he has!

4. "Heavenly Father, please bless my blank, my trucks, my cars, my motorcycles... oh and Annie and Jayson!" Just a little excerpt from Carter's bedtime prayers. They seriously can go on forever!

3. Often times, Carter does not just express himself in words, he expresses himself through the movement of dance. Man, that kid has got some killer moves! He does this one thing where he bends back with his hands behind him and then he... well, you will just have to ask him to do it for you. He will. It's amazing.

2. When it is time for Carter to take a nap, also known as "Mommy's Sanity", he will say, "No Mom! It's not 32:56 yet!" He thinks he can read the time. He is quite brilliant.

1. Finally, the #1 Best Thing Carter Says, "Mom, you are so beautiful.", as he strokes my hair.

As you can see, we are happy, healthy and having a blast.
